hEDS and HSD

I provide specialized psychotherapy to individuals living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD).

Hypermobile EDS and HSD have unique features such as challenges getting diagnosed and receiving informed and effective medical care, being significantly limited and disabled but (often) appearing healthy to others, and experiences of ableism and medical trauma that few people understand. After being diagnosed with hEDS, I decided to dedicate much of my therapy practice to helping those with hEDS and HSD, and tailor treatment to these specific needs. Together we navigate many aspects of hEDS and HSD including:

  • Chronic pain

  • Fatigue

  • Managing physical limitations

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Sleep challenges

  • Grief and loss

  • Living with a (sometimes) invisible disability

  • Managing POTS, MCAS, and other related conditions

  • Medical trauma

  • Navigating the healthcare system

  • The long path to diagnosis

  • Trying new treatments and assessing whether they’re working

  • Communicating with others about your condition

  • Dealing with ableism (and other -isms!)

  • Work accommodations, leave, and going on disability

  • Intersecting identities

  • Parenting with EDS/HSD

  • And more!
